Autumn has arrived in all its glory and winter isn’t far away, with goodness knows what weather it may throw at us. Get prepared for whatever road conditions may arise, with a full motorbike service from Dave Barkshire.
 
We have the knowledge and experience to carry out a complete and efficient service on your machine, to keep it running smoothly and reliably. Dave is happy to chat about your service requirements, and due to high demand, you will need to book your service in advance.
 
In addition to servicing your machine, we offer a full range of checks, repairs and rebuilds to make the most of your motorcycle. Whatever your make or model of bike, we’ll keep it running smoothly and in great shape!
 
Services we offer include:
Bike Health Check - be sure to keep your machine in a reliable, roadworthy condition!
 
Replacement Spare Parts - we are able to supply parts for a wide range of motorcycle brands and models.
 
Routine or full servicing - including oil changes, oil and air filters, spark plugs, brake fluid and callipers, battery, forks, suspension and more.
 
Suspension Service - We are an approved K-Tech dealer and can offer a full Suspension service on rear shocks including stripping, re-oil, re-gas, re-valving, seal replacements.
 
Engine rebuilds - from minor to full rebuilds.
 
Accident damage repairs - including restoration of bodywork, wheel replacement etc

The Story Continues…

With over half the year already gone, 2026 has been proving a busy one for the Dave Barkshire team.
 
This June we celebrated 43 years in the business at the Dave Barkshire Motorcycles. Since opening his first shop in Lenwade in 1983, Dave Barkshire has become a big name across Norfolk, and it is great to celebrate this achievement with you all.
 
Thank you to all our customers treating themselves to new bikes, riders using our dirt track and budding motorcyclists attending out training school. Your loyalty has ensured our success story.
 
The arrival of Spring gave many of you the incentive to take to the road, be it in the UK, Europe or even further afield. Equally, as we had more than our fair share of spring showers, you were able to take to the mud and puddles of the dirt trails.

Now the temperatures are rising and we could find ourselves in sweltering conditions (you never know!). Remember to wear full protective gear, even on the hottest days to keep safe and ensure to stay well hydrated when riding to help you remain alert.

Spring into Action

The start of 2026 saw many of our loyal customers treating themselves to new enduro, motocross and road bikes, but we also welcomed new customers who took delivery of their chosen bikes.
 
The arrival of Spring (theoretically at least) will give many of you the incentive to take to the road, be it in the UK, Europe or even further afield. Equally, if we get more than a fair share of spring showers, you may like to take to the mud and puddles of the dirt trails.

Ring in the Changes

Dave Barkshire Motorcycles has been a name synonymous with all your biking needs for many years, with countless loyal customers to our name. 

Although our Rackheath showroom and workshop are now closed, our Motorcycle Training School and Hit the Dirt off-road track will still be going strong in 2026.

We’ve helped many would-be motorcyclists take safely to the roads over the years and we look forward to welcoming many more over the coming year. It’s great that we meet so many riders, from so many walks of life and age groups, successfully completing their training. The photo montage above has many of our November and December Training Riders.

Meanwhile, the Hit the Dirt track at Swaffham provides an exciting ride, in addition to a great training ground for enduro racers at all levels. There have been times when bad weather has forced the track to close, but we’re keen to open when we can and look forward to welcoming more riders there in 2026.

Although the New Year means some changes to the Dave Barkshire brand, our contact details remain the same, so we look forward to you getting in touch, whether it’s to book in at our Training School, explore the off-road track or bag some last-minute motorcycle bargains (all reasonable offers considered).

Riding into Summer

The start of 2025 not only saw many of our loyal customers treating themselves to new motocross, enduro and road bikes, but we also welcomed new customers who took delivery of their chosen bikes.

This Spring’s early warmth has encouraged riders to take to the road and many of our bikes have been across the UK, Europe and beyond on numerous foreign routes. As we see every year, riders will move back towards the dirt in the autumn when there is mud and puddles on the trails…

This year we have successfully trained more new riders through our Training School and we are very proud to have supported these motorcyclists of the future. Those of us from a certain era were born to ride, but these days there is a reduction in the take up of two wheels, so we must do our bit to ensure that budding riders enjoy motorcycles as much as we do, but with much better training than we were given.

Our off-road track near Swaffham, Hit the Dirt has again proved to be an invaluable training ground for both enduro racers and beginners alike, with another great season of riding development despite being closed a couple of times due to bad weather. For those preparing for events such as the Dave Barkshire 2-man Enduro Championship or riders who just relish a challenge, it’s the place to come.

Our Rackheath showroom continues to offer new road and off-road models from Fantic, Rieju, Sherco and our commuter bikes from Kymco. On this note, we are pleased to confirm that since the start of the year we have become the GPX Enduro and Kove Rally dealers in our region so please come and talk to us about your next new motocross, enduro or trials bike.
